In 2015, I was recruited to become the Executive Director of Mediation West. The frontier lifestyle of the panhandle fits our family well and we love being here.
Before making Scottsbluff our home, I served on the City Council in Seward, another Nebraska first-class city, and as the Executive Director if the Seward Area Chamber of Commerce. Those experiences allowed me to serve as a liaison to the Library Board, as a member of the Solid Waste Agency, the LB840 Sales Tax Application Review Board for Economic Development, and as a member of the Community Redevelopment Authority (the group that makes recommendations on tax increment financing, known as TIF).
Once here, I joined Leadership Scotts Bluff, was a founding member and chair of the Gering Public Library Foundation and have served in various offices, including President of the Nebraska Writers Guild. I currently serve as treasurer for the Renew the Two PAC, which is working to keep local property taxes low by renewing our local sales tax. I have also helped shine a spotlight on the area by helping Mediation West partner for state, national, and international projects and studies and currently serve on the board of the National Association for Community Mediation and advise other national groups.
My experience will serve the city well as we work on the issues facing Scottsbluff in the next city council term.
